What is Saudade?
Saudade’s Navigation Club works like shared ownership: you get access to a yacht 26 days a year, always the same boat, with no surprises or complications. You know the boat, you look after it as your own and you sail with full confidence.
The club was born in 2009 under the name Náutica 4u and is currently the longest-running club of this model in Spain.

What is the main advantage of joining a sailing club?
The main advantage is enjoying sailing without the responsibilities and additional costs of ownership, such as maintenance and mooring.
What does a sailing club fee include?
The fee includes exclusive use of a yacht, cleaning and maintenance costs, flexibility to reschedule in bad weather, and access to events and training.
What additional costs are involved in buying a second-hand yacht?
Besides the purchase price, there are maintenance, repair, insurance and mooring costs, which can add up significantly.
Can I customise a club yacht?
No, you cannot customise a sailing club yacht because it belongs to the club. However, you will always have a yacht in excellent condition.
What happens if the club yacht is already booked?
At Saudade Sailing Club, we have policies to ensure you can sail, including access to other yachts or rescheduling.
How much can I sail as a sailing club member?
At Saudade, you can enjoy your yacht throughout the year: one full week in summer, plus three weekends and ten individual days in the shoulder and low seasons.
Can I participate in events and regattas as a shared sailing club member?
Yes. At Saudade, we regularly organise events, regattas, courses and gatherings that allow members to broaden their experience and enjoy the sailing community.
What assistance does a sailing club offer for trips?
We usually offer help choosing and booking ports, buoys and coves, as well as advice based on weather conditions.
Do I need a specific qualification to join a sailing club?
Yes. A PNB (Patrón de Navegación Básica), PER (Patrón de Embarcaciones de Recreo) or higher qualification is generally required to sail independently.
How does the weather affect my club outings?
At Saudade, we offer flexibility to reschedule outings in bad weather, ensuring you can always sail in safe and pleasant conditions.
