About the club
Saudade is a sailing club where you can enjoy your yacht for one full week in summer, three weekends and ten individual weekdays, paying only a monthly fee. More information about our club.
It is a Portuguese word encompassing a range of complex feelings related to nostalgia and longing, particularly rooted in the experience of sailors and maritime explorers. Its origins lie in the days of Portuguese navigators, and it has evolved into an integral part of Portuguese culture and identity. Although it has no exact translation, its meaning transcends language barriers and connects with the human search for lasting connection and love.
Our home port is La Marina València Mar, just a few minutes from the city centre: Camino del Canal 91, València.
Joining a club such as Saudade Sailing Club is a more practical and economical option than buying a yacht. You enjoy all the advantages of sailing without the drawbacks and responsibilities of outright boat ownership.
As a member, you can sail all year round, always using the same boat and feeling as though it is your own. Getting to know the yacht gives you the confidence to manoeuvre calmly and safely.
The club began in 2009 under the name Náutica 4u. It is currently the oldest active club of its kind in Spain.
Yes, you can join the club at any time of year. The contract lasts one year from your joining date.

We have well-maintained, well-equipped cruising yachts with all the comforts you need to enjoy worry-free sailing. See them here.
All sea enthusiasts can join the club, whether they have sailed many miles or very few, with or without experience.
Being a member means having access to yachts as though they were your own, enjoying training with professionals and using our monitoring system to sail safely.
You can join by contacting us directly. Our team will be happy to guide you through the process and answer any additional questions.
The only requirement is a PER (Patrón de Embarcaciones de Recreo) qualification or higher. If you do not have one, or need practice to build confidence, you can train with us.
The PER, or Patrón de Embarcaciones de Recreo qualification, is the basic licence needed to skipper boats up to 15 metres long and up to 12 nautical miles from the coast. It is the most widely sought-after boating qualification and allows holders to enjoy recreational sailing.
Recreational boat skippers are people who have obtained a recreational boating qualification. It allows them to sail for pleasure and enjoy boating with a partner, family or friends. The best-known and most sought-after qualification in this category is the PER (Patrón de Embarcaciones de Recreo).
No previous sailing experience is needed: we tailor initial training to each new member. This includes private lessons to sail and berth independently with confidence, group courses in bad-weather sailing, berthing and anchoring techniques, and offshore passages.
